Post-Pandemic World and Pakistan’s Economy; Analysisand Way Forward

Abstract

Even after a couple of years since its outburst, The COVID-19 pandemic continues to dominate economic shaping and developments throughout the world. The virus has followed a far more severe course than expected including its impact on the global economy. In Pakistan, it is affecting general movement in major cities and industries which are facing a suspension in commercial activities and vital supply chains. The country is facing a high debt burden which creates hurdles in establishing recovery packages in the form of investments for its economy and infrastructure. Against this backdrop, this paper aims to suggest a way forward for Pakistan’s economy during and after the pandemic. It also analyzes what a post-pandemic Pakistan might look like. It concludes that COVID-19 will leave a lasting effect on Pakistan’s economy, causing long-lasting changes and teaching valuable lessons. Therefore, Pakistan needs to learn the importance of working together on economic problems.
