Abstract

The study expounds upon the “Schisms in the Psychic Construct of the Characters in Sorayya Khan’s Novel Noor” The impacts of sociopolitical and biological aspects on the fabrication of individual’s psychology are the pivotal focus of this research. It explores all those ordeals which hinder the ways of reconciliation inside the middle class families trapped by different issues of socio psychological adaptation due to a critical past. Overall, the existence of the Mongol child, war atrocities, post war traumas and home sickness and maladaptation are some of the problems which cause fissures in the psyche of the characters of the novel. Psychological analysis would be applied as a tool to carry out this research. Freudian theory of psycho analysis and the Jungian theory of individuation are the key resources to excavate the fragmentation in khan’s various characters. This study can have further implications on the researchers studying advanced psychological theories related to the psychic mutilation of the human mind in this dynamic world.
