Identification of Teachers' Academic Challenges andGuidelines for Promoting Academic Quality at Workers’ WelfareSchools in Punjab, Pakistan

The study aimed to identify and address academic challenges faced by teachers at workers’ welfare schools in Punjab, Pakistan. The quantitative as well as qualitative (QUAN-QUAL) method, was adopted. A multistage cluster sampling technique was used for data collection. The sample of the study consisted of four principals, forty teachers, eighty students of secondary classes, and eight parents who were members of school councils. Total sample of the study comprised of one hundred and thirty-two (132) respondents. The questionnaires and interview protocols were used as research tools. Scale was validated through EFA. Findings highlighted the weak agreement among principals, teachers, students and parents regarding the use of modern pedagogical skills, fulfillment of all academic needs, and use of audio- visual aids in the teaching learning process. It showed that 70% principals agreed with the statements while 83% teachers and 91% students disagreed. Mean score 4.27 and standard deviation 0.88 supported. The value of 1.00 showed positive correlation and 0.92 value of regression affirmed the agreement and the positive correlation between the perceptions of three groups. Findings strengthened by the level of significance 0.04. The study discussed the results and gave recommendations.
